Anniversary Stamp

A Celebration of Audrey Hepburn

I was tasked with creating a postage stamp celebrating a celebrity of my choosing. The stamp had to use no more than eight colors and had to be vectorized. I created a postage stamp celebrating Audrey Hepburn and her successful career/humanitarian experiences.

Typographic Dingbats

Dingbats for the Tarot Deck.

Tasked with generating a set of dingbats for type, I set out to make 22 dingbats symbolizing each and every one of the traditional tarot cards. Each dingbat had to be unique and recoognizable at a small size. After completing the task, I decided to finalize the tarot dingbats by creating backgrounds for them and making cards out of them.

iPad App Design

A redesign of the official Sailor Moon 25th Anniversary iPad display.

Tasked with creating an app layout for iPad, we were given a choice of either starting from scratch or redesigning an already existing app. I chose to take Sailor Moon's official website and design an app around it so it would be presentable on a smaller screen. Previously, the site had a fine layout on large screens, but a poor layout on anything smaller than an iPad.

iPod App Design

Art Hunt - Finding Art Without the Name

Tasked with designing an app (specigically for iPhone), I worked on Art Hunt. Art Hunt is an app that basically works like Shazam for art historians. Ever try looking for a famous painting but cannot for the life of you remember the name of the artist? Well with a few well placed hashtags or a simple photo, Art Hunt can find the piece you were looking for and other possible connections. Future installments will include social media attachments and various other functions.

Magazine Cover Design

Magazine Covers devoted to Millie Bobby Brown and Lili Reinhart

Tasked with designing two magazine covers, I chose to represent two shows that I am currently invested in. Millie Bobbie Brown, one of the lead actresses of The Duffer Brothers' masterpiece Stranger Things appears on the Entertainment Weekly cover while Riverdale's own Lili Reinhart graces the cover of Rolling Stone. Not being able to find a premade .ai file for the EW logo, I had to make my own (which the Digital Arts and Design department at LIU Post now has as a resource for future students).

Department Page Design

Department Pages designed for Magazines

Tasked with designing two department pages, I started work on the Gaming Page first. It was designed to be in Game Informer magazine, a magazine written by and for gamers. The Dessert page was made for a magazine called Sweet Collections, although its not really for it specifically. While the Gaming page was designed first, I prefer how the dessert page came out in comparison

The original files were lost due to a careless error involving saving and deleting folders. These two were redone based solely based off printings of the originals. This set back has taught me to be more careful with where I save and click.

iPad Advertisement Video

Brave Frontier iPad Advertisement

iPad Commercial - Brave Frontier from cosmic_calibrator on Vimeo.

A video from a much earlier project, we were tasked with creating a fake iPad advertisement using an app of our choice. I used Brave Frontier, a hero summoning based adventure game developed by A-Lim and released worldwide by Gumi Asia. The iPad model was created and rendered by our professor.
